21st December is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. It is on this day that pagans meet at sacred sites, such as Stonehenge, to worship and welcome new sun. After this day, days get longer and more sun is going to come.
As pagans celebrate and show reverence, awe and gratitude to the sun, we can be reminded of the close connection our ancient ancestors had with the land and the spirits. Welcoming new sun reminds us too that the individual is not the locus of creativity. An infinite energy flows through us.
It’s the same with words. During this season of feasting and fizz, raise a glass and give thanks to the words, who showed up for your project(s).
Honour them and welcome new words. They’re waiting.
